Project Overview
High Concept

King Pufferfish is a hand held touchscreen endless shooter game. The game is played in portrait orientation and takes place in an underwater setting. Players are in control of a pufferfish located at the bottom of the screen defending a coral wall. In order to facilitate one-handed gameplay by players, the game consists of only two simple hand movements as mechanics: Tapping to shoot enemies and Scrubbing to clear the screen.

The game is set in an underwater environment and involves the story of a pufferfish trying to defend its home from invading cephalopods i.e. squids and octopuses. The pufferfish has to prevent its enemies from reaching the bottom and breaking the coral wall. It is able to shoot sharp spines outward from its body to attack them. The cephalopod enemies, on getting hit, produce ink splashes that cover the screen and obstruct visibility before fleeing.
